2 Children Wounded in Shooting at Townville Elementary School



Reports of an active shooting have come out from the Townville Elementary School at Anderson County, South Carolina on Sept. 28, 2016. The deputies from the county are responding to the situation, as per Anderson County School District Four.

Many law enforcement units are responding to the urgency that has occurred at the School. FireFlight and EMS are responding to the shooting.

Lt. Sheila Cole, who works with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, declared that someone might have been taken into custody. However, she clarified that she is waiting for confirmation.

Later, the Anderson County Coroner, Greg Shore confirmed that one suspect has indeed been taken into custody. Shore also revealed that two children and one teacher had been shot but the injuries are not threatening to their lives. Townville Elementary School officials did not provide any additional detail.

Townville Elementary School is situated at 105 Townville School Road. It has been evacuated, and the children have been moved to Oakdale Baptist Church. Parents of the children have been asked to pick up their kids from the church, confirmed Cole.

Oconee County deputies helped in evacuating the children from the school to the church.
