“Overwatch” is a popular first person shooter (FPS) game created by Blizzard. The game has changed the way first-person shooters are seen, being one of the more inventive of the genre. It seemingly never gets boring and it has taken the gaming community by storm. “Overwatch” has become the game to play for fun and competitively on the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
This game is becoming well known everywhere. “Overwatch” is quite new and different compared to other personal shooters. Players have fun sitting down with some friends and playing a few games of “Overwatch” on any occasion. It is able to accommodate gamers who are playing casually or competitively.
“Overwatch” offers different modes that offer players multiple challenges. There are many different modes, such as Low Gravity, to keep the experience lively and entertaining. Details like this have drawn attention to the game.
“Overwatch” has a huge fan-base, and many of the members are striving to be better than the average player. The game has been used for tournaments and friendly competitions that are not as high on the scale. Specifically, when players gain a high enough level, they are able to play a Ranked Mode within the game. This allows players to focus on competing against one another for more serious rewards or self-satisfaction, compared to the more casual modes.
In “Overwatch”, there are multiple heroes separated into categories. Some are more famous than others but are not always the best for everyone. It is better for a player to experiment with characters from categories that suit them. The categories include: Offense, Defense, Tank, and Support.
It is relatively easy to tell what each of the roles do by their names. Offense heroes should be on the front lines, attacking the enemy head-on. Defense heroes come into play when the enemy is too close for comfort. Tank heroes have a lot of health, so they can charge in and deal some damage with more confidence than any other roles. Support heroes do just that, support other heroes. They are able to heal and provide positive status boosts to teammates while putting the other team at a disadvantage. Truly, “Overwatch” is much more complex than it might seem and changed the FPS genre completely with its great success.
