Many of the common scenes from previous movies are not involved with this new film reboot. Not treading in the same water, Sony and Marvel were determined to create a fresh young thrill version of Spider-Man. There will be no newspaper job just a personal video diary logged from his smart phone. No radioactive spider bite and not a glimpse of Uncle Ben.
Peter Parker is a teenage boy in high school, who obtained superhero powers and evolved into Spider-Man. He then was recruited by the Avengers to go on a mission, which was shown in “Captain America: Civil War.” Soon, he has to return to life as a teen in Queens, and it is more troublesome than he thinks, being a nerd with love problems. He lives with his legal guardian Aunt May, because his parents died, and has a superhero mentor, Iron Man.
In previous movies, Parker was on a school trip to a biology lab where he was bitten by a radio-active spider that escaped from a cage. The spider bite caused his DNA to change and give him spider-like abilities. Spider-Man has to grow into his powers and responsibilities as a hero.
This new Spider-Man encounters a new enemy known as Vulture, played by Michael Keaton. The villain and his gang demand power by using alien technology they found after the first Avengers battle. Vulture is threatened by young Spider-Man and vows to destroying him and his family.
Tom Holland, the young man playing the role of Parker, stated: “I’ve realized the responsibility of being a role model for young kids everywhere. Tobey Maguire was a good one for me while I was a kid so I defiantly live by my ‘With great power comes great responsibility motto.'” Holland grew up taking ballet classes while others played football. “I got a lot of grief when I was in school about doing ballet. It wasn’t as cool as being in a rugby club. But I loved it and it’s what put me on the map!” Holland says he was born to be Spider-Man.
