Two people died in a murder-suicide at North Lake College in Irving, Texas, on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. The police were called to the community college at 12:47 p.m. CT. The shooting seems to have included a female and male.
The gunman shot the female victim three times. Witnesses state they saw him leave, and then he turned the gun on himself and took his own life.
Nasrin Nanbakash, a math teacher, stated that she was just leaving work and she witnessed what happened. The teacher said, “A girl was sitting in a chair and a guy was standing in front of her. I saw … three times, he shot her.” She also mentioned that she witnessed this shooting take place in a hallway that is sometimes used for art exhibits.
On Twitter, the Irving Police Department reported, that although the situation appears to be resolved, they will continue searching the campus. Due to this tragic shooting, the school will be closed down until further notice.
