2017 Memorial Day plans for Beaver Lake in Eureka Springs, Arkansas may be ruined as a result of bad weather.
There is a storm predicted for Arkansas on Saturday, which will result in waters rising in the lake. Although some people have decided to cancel their trip, others are not letting their Memorial Day plans be ruined. Instead, they will heed the advice of Michael Hurley, chief park director, and simply be extra careful in the water.
Rafting the waters of Beaver Lake is not the only way people are spending Memorial Day. Since this is a day to honor women and men who have lost their lives serving in the U.S. military, some people are planning to visit the grave sites of the fallen soldiers to place flowers and remember those who defended their country.
In addition, Memorial Day weekend is full of excitement as two new movies will be released in theaters. Disney will be releasing their fifth part to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” saga, as well as the comedy, “Baywatch.”
Chicago is making contributions to the festivities by holding a Memorial Day parade. It will start at noon on May 27. The march will begin on the corner of State and Lake Street and end on State and Van Buren Street.
Although some may decide to go out to celebrate the holiday, others may stay at home, or with family, and simply enjoy the weather, if possible.
