Grizzlies Bounce Back to Take Game-3 From Spurs

The Memphis Grizzlies bounced back to take game 3, 105-94, from the San Antonio Spurs, at the FedEx Forum, in Memphis, Tennessee, Thursday, April 20, 2017.

Grizzlies, the home team climbed back into the series with this victory. They trail the Spurs 2-1 in the seven-game series.

The contest was tied after the first quarter, 21-21. The Grizzlies built a slim 4-point lead, 50-46, going into the locker room at the halftime buzzer.

Memphis went on an 8-0 run to begin the third quarter.  The Spurs could not match the Grizzlies intensity, who increased their lead to as much as 18 points in the period.

From then on, the Grizzlies never looked back. The home fans in Memphis cheered them on as they kept the Spurs at bay. Prior to this game, the Spurs had won 10 straight playoff games from the Grizzlies.

Grizzlies center, Marc Gasol, was the star of the home team. He outplayed his older brother Pau Gasol of the Spurs, scoring 21 points to Pau’s 6 points.

The Spurs were led by Kawahi Leonard scoring 18 points, while forward LaMarcus Aldridge pitched in 16 points. The Grizzlies guard Marc Conley led the home team with 24 points. Zac Randolph and Marc Gasol both scored 21 points.

These two teams will lock horns again on Saturday, April 22 in Memphis.
