Megyn Kelly is dumping Fox News Channel and moving over to NBC News. According to Variety Magazine on January 3, 2017, a spokesman for NBC stated that the high profile newswoman would be making the transition later in 2017, where Kelly will be hosting a daily program and a Sunday show. The daily show will be news, and the weekly event will be in a magazine format on Sundays. The move takes her from cable to broadcast news and an increased audience.
The Huffington Post reports that she was an integral part of the Fox News future. In any event, her departure creates a serious void at the network where she anchored a daily show at 9 p.m. ET. Kelly’s Facebook page confirms the reports and she stated that she is “incredibly enriched for the experiences I’ve had” at the Fox News Channel. She goes on to express her enthusiasm for new opportunities. Furthermore, she expresses her excitement and happiness “to be joining the NBC News family and taking on a new challenge.”
During the presidential debates, she and then-candidate Donald Trump feuded over his claims of potential bias by her. The ultimate result appeared to be an uneasy truce between them. During the Roger Ailes sexual harassment fiasco at Fox News, she claimed that Ailes tried to kiss her on numerous occasions.
