Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, known as Lady Gaga, dreamed of becoming a Super Bowl sensation when she was four years old. Not only did she dream of such an event, but she prepared for this her entire life. As a result, Lady Gaga set high expectations for herself as she strives at perfecting her Super Bowl halftime performance on Feb. 5, 2017.
Lady Gaga’s new album “Joanne,” released in Oct. 2016, gives the world a unique look at her artistic talent and who she is as a person. Joanne, an aunt she never met in person, shines throughout the entire album. According to Lady Gaga, Joanne who is a painter and poet, survived a sexual assault which left her so “emotionally tormented” that she died from Lupus when she was only 19 years old.
Lady Gaga explains that her “center” person and balance of self directly connects to her middle name, Joanne. It appears to be obvious that her aunt has impacted her life and career in non-traditional ways. Although the death of her aunt devastates her, she wants nothing more than to keep Joanne’s spirit alive through her own creativity. By all means, her aunt’s influence will be felt while Lady Gaga mesmerizes the audience at Super Bowl LI.
Lady Gaga combined her artsy twist, powerful voice and classical vibe once before at the Super Bowl. Last year the six-time Grammy award winner opened the game with her version of the National Anthem. With this performance in mind, her dream of becoming a Super Bowl sensation is in the works and ready to manifest itself Super Bowl Sunday.
Mother Monster, as she likes to be called by her Little Monsters, portrays nothing but devotion to her Super Bowl performance. She stated that she “knows exactly what she is doing” and even set up an enormous tent in her backyard so she and her crew can practice. Notably, Lady Gaga trains daily with a personal trainer proving to be indefatigable.
A lot of information is offered on Lady Gaga’s preparations for her halftime performance. At the same time, little is found pertaining to the actual show. One video provides a slight clue as to what goes on behind the scene. In the video, her choreographer, Richy Jackson, composes exotic moves with hand-picked dancers he and Lady Gaga selected. Nevertheless, not one leak surfaced that identifies anything else planned for the upcoming grand performance.
Acknowledging how big of a stage Super Bowl LI presents, Lady Gaga felt the need to go beyond music and dance. Ultimately, she wants to conflate audience members so that an awesome experience transpires for everyone. Her love for fans, the arts and Joanne persuaded her performance of a lifetime and destined her a Super Bowl sensation.
