NBA Signs Shasa Vujacic to One-Year Agreement

July 13, 2016, NBA player Sasha Vujacic has agreed to rejoin his old team the New York Knicks. The contract is a one-year deal for $1.4 million. The team had one more open slot to fill and they felt he was the player to fill the position.

According to Neal A. Lasta, the reason for this trade was because Vujacic had decided it was best to return to New York after received offers from several teams across the country, but for less money. While playing for the Istanbul Basketball League in 2015, Vujacic averaged 5 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists while playing only about 15 minutes per game.

The New York Knicks current roster includes, Derrick Rose, Courtney Lee, Carmelo Anthony, Kristaps Porzingis, and Joakim Noah. He decided to rejoin the team to play with these players. Vujacic will play off the bench because the team already has their starting line-up. Which he is fine with, due to the fact that he is already acquainted with the Knicks offense.

The other offers he received were from teams in Europe, Turkey, Italy, and Spain. He had already played four seasons for many of the teams, but the Knicks were offering him more money, and a better chance at an NBA title. During a meeting with the Knicks staff, Vujacic said that he is very excited to join the organization.
