On June 8, 2016, three teenagers were shot near the Dorchester school in Boston around 1:00 p.m. EDT. The shooting reportedly happened around 56 Washington Street. Involved in the shooting were three young adults, two males and one female. According to reports, one teen is dead and two others were seriously injured. An elderly woman close the the shooting was grazed by a bullet.
WCVB 5 News reports that the teenage girl was grazed by a bullet near the Jeremiah E. Burke High School. Police are combing the area, including Washington Street, Columbia Road, and Blue Hill Avenue
Three schools were placed on lockdown following the shooting. They were Jeremiah E. Burke High School, Dearborn STEM Academy, and Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School. Another school affected by the shooting was Martin Luther King, Jr.
At this time, it is unclear whether or not the victims were students of the school.
