A Folcroft Boro Police officer was shot in Folcroft, Pa., on Friday morning, June 24, 2016. The victim was responding to a report of drug activity at Primos and Elmwood streets. The officer was immediately taken to Pennsylvania Hospital. 6ABC News sources reported that the officer is “in critical, but stable condition.”
According to 6ABC, the policeman was ambushed and shot at least three times. The 26-year-old officer had been on the job just over 12 months.
Now the police are conducting a massive manhunt in search of the shooter. The investigation is concentrated in the residential area near the Folcroft train station. Moreover, the Amtrak train service and SEPTA’s Wilmington/Newark Line are suspended due to the police activity in the area.
Few minutes after the police officer was shot in Folcroft, Pennsylvania’s Governor Tom Wolf, reacted to the unfortunate event on his Twitter account. “Our thoughts are with the Folcroft [Police Department] officer shot in the line of duty. Please keep his family in your prayers,” was the Governor’s message.
