On June 29, 2016, the South Pasadena Police Department initiated a manhunt. According to NBC News, the search was initiated due to a series of sexual assaults and home robberies.
The crimes took place on the morning of June 29, on the south side of the Californian city. The police are investigating three sexual assaults and five home burglaries. According to a news release from the South Pasadena Police Department, the crimes happened between Fair Oaks Avenue and Rollin Street.
The manhunt was launched because the suspect was seen armed with a knife, at one of the crime scenes. Witnesses described the suspect as “an 18- to 30-year-old black man, about 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a medium build.” Also, they said that the suspect was wearing a blue or gray shirt and some dark shorts.
Marengo Elementary and South Pasadena High and Middle schools have been temporarily locked down as a consequence of the manhunt.
The South Pasadena Police Department asked anyone with information to call at 626-403-7297. Also, they advised people not to contact the suspect.
