The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 4 of the first round of the NBA playoffs on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn. The final score of the game was 116-95. The Spurs swept the Grizzlies in the series 4-0 and will advance to the Western Conference Semifinals.
Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio’s small forward, scored 21 points, had seven rebounds, and tallied four assists in his 28 minutes of play. Leonard was awarded the 2016 NBA Defensive Player of the Year earlier in the week.
Memphis’ Lance Stephenson, also a small forward, scored 26 points and had one rebound and three assists. Matt Barnes added 15 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
Game 4 was affected by a city-wide power outage early in the second quarter that suddenly left the arena dark. The outage, which officials found was caused by a county-wide drop in voltage, caused an 18-minute delay in the game. The Spurs were up 25-23 at the time of the power outage.
The Spurs will play on May 2, 2016, in the Western Conference Semifinals. The Oklahoma City Thunder is currently leading the series 3-1 against the Dallas Mavericks. The Thunder is projected to win Game 5 and could face the Spurs in the second round of the NBA Playoffs.
