On October 3, 2015, at about 8:28 pm officers were dispatched to 2200 Tallyho Lane regarding a robbery in progress. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the two robbery victims a Latin Male and female arrived at the offense location to buy a cell phone. The victims agreed to purchase a cell phone via a website. During the transaction with two Black male suspects, a gun was pointed at the female victim and suspects demanded and took property from both victims. The suspects then fled the location in a vehicle. The victims called 911.
A description of the suspects and vehicle was broadcasted over police radio. One of the responding elements heard the broadcast description and observed a vehicle matching the description leaving an apartment complex located at 5880 Bernal Street. Officers followed the vehicle onto Walton Walker Freeway. Officers attempted a felony traffic stop in which the suspects failed to comply. A pursuit was initiated. During the pursuit, the victim’s purse was thrown from the vehicle. The pursuit ended at 10222 Walton Walker, where the suspects continued to flee on foot. One of the suspects was located and taken into custody; the other has been identified but still at large.
During the investigation, it was determined that both suspects committed the robbery. Demarcus Maddox B/M/ 10/10/92 was arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery of an Individual, and Evading Arrest. The victim’s property was recovered and returned to the victims. This offense is documented on case number 229842-2015.The investigation is ongoing.
