Nicholas Brendon of ‘Buffy’ Fame Arrested Third Time in Under a Year

Nicholas Brendon, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame, was arrested for the third time in under a year. All three arrests were made while the actor, who played Xander Harris on Buffy, attended a local Comic Con-style event.

Nicholas Brendon was arrested the latest time this past Friday, for his having allegedly destroyed a hotel room in Tallahassee, Florida. According to the Tallahassee Democrat, he called the Tallahassee Police Department claiming that he had his phone and wallet stolen. Upon going to the Duval Hotel to check out the story, the police found Nicholas Brendon in what they described as a “state of confusion.”

According to court records that the Tallahassee Democrat cited, actor Nicholas Brendon, who also starred as Kevin Lynch in Criminal Minds, possibly caused $1,000 in damages to the hotel room. Brendon reportedly clogged the toilet, got the carpet wet from the toilet overflowing, flipped over the bed, pulled the phone out of the wall, and smashed a porcelain figurine.

When the police first saw Nicholas Brendon, they reported that the actor’s clothes were covered in toilet water, toothpaste, his own waste, and blood. Hotel employees stated that he had been mixing pills with alcohol.

Nicholas Brendon showed up as the hotel manager was talking to the police. Brendon was allegedly wearing a T-shirt and pajama pants that were torn at the crotch.

One of the police officers who spoke with Nicholas Brendon wrote in a report that that Buffy actor had “toothpaste all over his face and shirt, his pants were torn, he had defecated on himself and his pajama pants were wet below the knees.”

The police discovered a prescription pill bottle in the hotel room, which had been filled on Friday with 10 sleeping pills because he suffers from depression. There was just one remaining in the bottle. Nicholas Brendon admitted to the police that he had taken nine of the sleeping pills, and that he had blacked out sometime during the incident.

The Tallahassee Democrat reported that Nicholas Brendon told them he had, in his words, “stopped taking my meds a while ago.” He called the decision “a mistake.” He added that it resulted in his taking the sleeping pills and blacking out.

Nicholas Brendon was supposed to be the headliner this weekend at the ALT*Con pop culture festival in Tallahassee, Florida. March 30 is when the actor’s court date has been set following his most recent arrest.

Less than a month ago, according to the Sun Sentinel, Nicholas Brendon was arrested in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at a Hilton hotel on charges of felony grand theft and criminal mischief. Then, the event he was scheduled to be at was the Shock Pop Comiccon.

The first time of the three convention-related incidents that Nicholas Brendon was arrested by the police for was when he appeared to be intoxicated while in Boise, Idaho. He was there for the Tree City Comic Con. According to CNN, Brendon was then charged two misdemeanors, resisting or obstructing officers and malicious injury to property. He apologized and said that he had been taking pills and drinking alcohol.

Following the first arrest, Nicholas Brendon stated that he was going “to seek appropriate treatment and therapy for my medical ailments as well as my emotional demons,” and that he would “pursue rehabilitation.”

Despite having been arrested at three different types of Comic Con-style events in under a year, Nicholas Brendon told the Tallahassee Democrat that the events helped him. He stated that “I love meeting my fans,” and he referred to the experiences as being “like the refuge outside of my head.”

With his mounting arrest record, having been arrested three times now in under a year, Buffy star Nicholas Brendon might be finding himself facing jail time for his actions while under the influence of pills and alcohol. He separated from his wife, and has been suffering from depression, which makes the entire situation that much sadder. Hopefully, the actor will obtain the help he needs before he ends up harming himself or others and doing some serious jail time.
