Reports stated yesterday that Bobbi Kristina Brown was officially brain dead, but the family of Whitney Houston deny them. Members of the family are not getting ready to say goodbye. The 21-year-old is currently in a medically induced coma.
There are still a lot of questions surrounding the singer’s incident. Boyfriend Nick Gordon and her friend found her in her bathtub from an apparent overdose. The incident was extremely similar to Houston’s own death three years ago. The I Will Always Love You singer was found after overdosing on medication. Officials believe that her former drug use and her heart condition contributed to her death at the age of 48.
Brown has been struggling with her Houston’s death ever since. Many fans worry that her current situation has been self-induced, as there were reports of her and Gordon arguing just before the event. Her Twitter stream also made it clear that she was annoyed that her singing career was not taking off, but it looked like she was focused on succeeding with it.
The only information the media has received has been from unnamed sources. It is difficult to tell whether the information is reliable or not. Last night, some reports suggested that Brown’s life support machine had been turned off, but that is not the case. An unnamed source stated that Brown was brain dead, but Houston’s family has denied the reports. Another unnamed source came forward to say that there is brain activity.
Jerod Brown, cousin of the singer, did state that the doctors are not optimistic about the singer’s chances. He took to social media to share the news with his own followers. He used Instagram to ask his followers to pray for his cousin while she fights for her life.
Police confirmed that they did respond to a 911 call at Brown’s home. It was a suspected drowning, and Brown was receiving CPR when first responders arrived at the scene. She was instantly taken to hospital and has since reportedly been moved to Georgia’s Emory University Hospital. The hospital has not yet confirmed that she is there, but the initial hospital in Roswell has confirmed she is no longer a patient there. The family just wants privacy at this time, and this is the best way to get that.
She was reportedly placed in a medical induced coma, according to Kim Burrell, a friend of the Brown. This is to help reduce the brain swelling. The police force is currently investigating how the incident occurred and the circumstances leading up to it.
New reports state that Houston’s family had filed for a restraining order against Gordon last year. The family has never been a fan of the man that Brown regularly referred to as her husband. Father of the singer, Bobby Brown, says that the two are not legally married. There are many who worry that an argument with Gordon led to Brown intentionally hurting herself, especially with it coming up to the third anniversary of her mother’s death. However, Houston’s family remains quiet on the matter but has stated that Brown is not brain dead.
